Stuart Shiff

Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Shiff is primarily responsible for leading DivcoWest’s investment and management strategies. Under his direction over 35 million square feet of commercial property throughout the U.S. has been acquired by DivcoWest and its predecessor. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley and is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineering, Urban Land Institute, Pension Real Estate Association and the Policy Advisory Board of the Fisher Center for Real Estate & Urban Economics at the University of California Berkeley. He currently serves on the UCSF Board of Overseers Real Estate Committee. Previously, he has served on the Real Estate Academic Initiative at Harvard University, the Taube Foundation, the Tech Museum of Innovation, Roots of Peace, and the Role Model Program.

Robert Mashaal

Chief Investment Officer

Mr. Mashaal joined DivcoWest in 2006, serving as DivcoWest's Chief Investment Officer with primary responsibility for investment strategy. Mr. Mashaal was the founder and President of Yale Properties USA, a full service, privately owned real estate investment company whose major operations merged with DivcoWest in 2006. Yale USA was established in 1991 as an independent affiliate of Yale Properties Limited, a longstanding family owned real estate investment and development company based in Montreal, Canada. Prior to founding Yale USA, Mr. Mashaal worked in real estate acquisitions and development with CIBC Development Corporation and Cadillac Fairview Corporation, and in investment banking with Ladenburg, Thalmann and Bear Stearns. Mr. Mashaal currently serves as a member of the investment committee of LoanCore, a debt-oriented commercial real estate investment advisor based in Greenwich, Connecticut. Mr. Mashaal received a Master of Science degree in Management from MIT’s Sloan School of Management, a Master of Science degree in Real Estate Development from MIT’s Center for Real Estate Development and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School.

Mike Carp

President and Chief Investment Officer, Divcore &
President and Chief Operating Officer, DivcoWest

Mr. Carp serves as President and Chief Operating Officer of DivcoWest with primary responsibility for corporate strategy and internal management. In addition, Mr. Carp is President and Chief Investment Officer of DivCore. Prior to joining DivCore, he spent nearly 24 years with the real estate investment arm of the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation (“GIC”), most recently as the Regional Head of the Americas and Global Head of Investments until his departure in July of 2012. During his tenure, GIC grew from a relatively small real estate investor with under $1 billion in assets under management to one of the largest and most respected real estate investors in the world, with real estate debt and equity investments in over 40 countries and across all property sectors. In addition to his other responsibilities, Mr. Carp also created and oversaw GIC’s global real estate debt program. Mr. Carp began his career at Laventhol and Horwath as an auditor. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Boston University in 1984 and is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive).

Jody Gessow

Managing Partner, DivCore Equity Partners

Mr. Gessow joined DivCore Equity Partners in January of 2012 and is responsible for investment strategy. Prior to joining DivcoWest, from 2007-2012, Mr. Gessow was the West Coast Partner and Managing Director of One Equity Partners (OEP), the private equity platform of JPMorgan. Prior to joining OEP, Mr. Gessow was a partner at Oak Hill Partners, with a focus on operating companies with real estate concentrations. Mr. Gessow co-founded K.K. daVinci Japan (TYO: 4314) and Signature Resorts (formerly on NASDAQ & NYSE), where he served as CEO. Prior to this, he was a partner at Trammell Crow Residential. Mr. Gessow is on the board of Coupons.com (NYSE). Previous boards include: Mandiant Corporation, TV Guide Network, Oncology Therapeutics, Phoenix Cable Systems, Westin Hotels and the nonprofit, Board of Trustees of University of Maryland and UCLA Foundation Board of Governors, USPS Pro Bike Team. Mr. Gessow received a BBA from Emory University and an MBA from Harvard University. 

Ted Knetzger

Vice Chairman

Mr. Knetzger joined DivcoWest in 2006 and currently serves as DivcoWest’s Vice Chairman, spearheading the expansion of DivcoWest’s global leasing platform. Mr. Knetzger is one of the co-founders of Greenwich Capital Markets, presently known as RBS Greenwich Capital, where Mr. Knetzger previously served as the President, Chief Executive Officer, Vice Chairman and Chairman. Prior to Greenwich Capital Markets, Inc., Kidder Peabody & Company employed Mr. Knetzger where he was Co-Manager and Head Trader of Kidder Peabody’s Government Bond Trading Department. Mr. Knetzger received his Bachelor of Arts degree and Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Virginia. Mr. Knetzger has been involved with various philanthropic endeavors and was one of the original board members of Paul Newman’s Hole In The Wall Camp for children with life threatening diseases. 

Steven Dietsch

Sr. Managing Director - Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Dietsch joined DivcoWest in 2003, serving as DivcoWest’s Chief Financial Officer with responsibility for planning, monitoring, managing and communicating financial performance for DivcoWest’s investments and operations, as well as oversight of the firm’s liquidity, capital structure and profitability. Mr. Dietsch also serves in the same capacity as Chief Financial Officer of LoanCore, a debt-oriented commercial real estate investment advisor based in Greenwich, Connecticut. Prior to joining Divco West Properties, Mr. Dietsch served as the Chief Financial Officer at iSyndicate, an Internet content syndication company with operations in Europe and the U.S. and JLA Credit Corporation, an equipment lessor. Prior to these positions, Mr. Dietsch spent over 14 years with Arthur Andersen, LLP as a Senior Audit Manager in the Audit and Business Advisory services practice. His experience included audits of both public and private companies, real estate accounting, auditing and reporting, mergers, IPO’s and business acquisition due diligence. Mr. Dietsch received a Bachelor of Science degree in Management and Accounting from Purdue University. He is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive) and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Jacqueline Moore

Sr. Managing Director – General Counsel

Ms. Moore joined DivcoWest in 2003, serving as DivcoWest’s General Counsel. Prior to joining DivcoWest, Ms. Moore was a founding partner and General Counsel of Wilson/Equity Office, a San Francisco real estate development and management company. Ms. Moore also served as General Counsel of Wilson/Cornerstone, a publicly traded REIT. Ms. Moore began her career as a tax and real estate lawyer at Morrison & Foerster. Ms. Moore received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Stanford University, Phi Beta Kappa, and a Juris Doctorate degree from Stanford Law School.

Stephen Novick

Sr. Managing Director – Head of Asset Management

Mr. Novick joined DivcoWest in 2006 and is responsible for overseeing operations, asset management and property management. Prior to DivcoWest, Mr. Novick was with Yale Properties USA where he oversaw activities that crossed all functional disciplines. Mr. Novick executed acquisitions and dispositions, arranged financings, and developed and implemented asset and property management strategies. Prior to Yale Properties USA, Mr. Novick was in the Acquisitions and Finance department of Historic Landmarks for Living, a residential real estate development company. Mr. Novick received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and a Master of Business Administration degree in Real Estate Finance from Columbia University.

 

David Brandwein

Sr. Managing Director – Head of Research & Strategic Planning

Mr. Brandwein joined DivcoWest in 2008 and is responsible for overseeing analytics and investment management. Prior to joining DivcoWest, Mr. Brandwein worked at Colliers International as a Vice President for a team that completed over 65 commercial property sales, with a total property value of approximately $1 billion. Prior to Colliers, Mr. Brandwein worked at Yale Properties USA, overseeing financial analysis and portfolio management. Mr. Brandwein received Bachelor of Arts and Sciences degrees in Biology and Neuropsychology from the University of California, San Diego.

 

Samuel Hamilton

Sr. Managing Director – Head of Acquisitions, Western Region

Mr. Hamilton joined DivcoWest in 2002 and oversees acquisitions, with a focus on Western Region opportunities. Prior to joining DivcoWest, Mr. Hamilton worked in the San Francisco office of Citigroup Investments where he sourced debt and equity opportunities for various joint venture funds and was responsible for developing new fund opportunities. Mr. Hamilton received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Wisconsin.

 

Keith Wallace

Sr. Managing Director – Head of Acquisitions, Eastern Region

Mr. Wallace joined DivcoWest in 2006 and oversees acquisitions, with a focus on Eastern Region opportunities. Prior to joining DivcoWest, Mr. Wallace worked in Boston for Griffith Properties LLC, where he served as Director of Finance. Mr. Wallace's responsibilities there included deal sourcing, execution and all aspects of structuring and financing. Before Griffith Properties LLC, Mr. Wallace worked on acquisitions for Yale Properties USA before ultimately being promoted to Director of Finance. Mr. Wallace received a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Lehigh University.

 

James Teng

Managing Director – Leasing

Mr. Teng joined DivcoWest in 2004 and is responsible for overseeing leasing operations. Prior to joining DivcoWest, Mr. Teng was Vice President and Asset Manager for JPMorgan Chase’s portfolio of corporate real estate in the Western United States. Mr. Teng also served as JPMorgan Chase's Real Estate Financial Controller for the Western and Southern United States. During his career, Mr. Teng has overseen leasing or asset management for over 14 million square feet and completed over $1 billion in deals. Mr. Teng received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Juris Doctorate from the University of Texas. Mr. Teng is a licensed attorney in Texas and a licensed real estate broker in California.

 

James E. Lesko, III, RPA

Managing Director – Property Management

Mr. Lesko joined DivcoWest in 2008 and is responsible for property management. Prior to joining DivcoWest, Mr. Lesko served most recently as Director of Operations for Yale Properties USA and was responsible for the operation of a New England commercial real estate portfolio that consisted primarily of technology-oriented and telecommunications assets. Prior to Yale, Mr. Lesko held accounting and property management positions at Whittier Partners, a Boston-based full service real estate company. Mr. Lesko brings over 25 years of broad commercial real estate experience to DivcoWest, including extensive experience in site operations, construction, financial reporting and budgeting, leasing and tenant relations. Mr. Lesko received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wittenberg University.

 

Paul Turek

Managing Director – Property Management & Construction

Mr. Turek joined DivcoWest in 2013 and is responsible for managing capital construction, development, repositioning and tenant improvement projects. Prior to joining DivcoWest, Mr. Turek was the Vice President and National Director of Construction Management at Marx Okubo Inc., a privately held consulting company. Mr. Turek was responsible for creating and integrating the Construction Management Division in ten regional offices; providing project management, owner's representation and construction consulting services throughout the United States. Prior to Marx Okubo, Mr. Turek was Managing Partner of Suma III, Inc., a privately owned Design-Build Construction Company, which provided General Contracting, Construction Management and Consulting Services. Mr. Turek was Vice President - Project Management, with Thompson Brooks. Paul was a Senior Project Manager with The Shorenstein Company, LP. Mr. Turek was an Engineer Officer in the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Turek holds an MBA in International Business from St. Mary’s College of California, a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Northwestern University; he is also a Registered Civil Engineer, State of California; and holds a General Contractor license, State of California.

 

Sara Buss

Managing Director – Asset Management

Mrs. Buss joined DivcoWest in 2011 and is responsible for asset management and overseeing the integration and implementation of sustainable practices within the property-level management of DivcoWest's overall investment portfolio. Prior to joining DivcoWest, Mrs. Buss served as operations and transaction officer at AMB Property Corporation (now Prologis) where she helped manage operations and redevelopment strategy for a 12.6 million-sq.-ft. portfolio of industrial and office/R&D product. Mrs. Buss holds an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, an M.S.E. from the Stanford Graduate School of Engineering, and a B.A. from Stanford University.

 

Kevin McLean

Managing Director – Finance & Investor Reporting

Mr. McLean joined DivcoWest in 2012 and is responsible for accounting, finance, and investor reporting. Prior to joining DivcoWest, Mr. McLean was a Senior Manager at Deloitte & Touche providing audit and advisory services to range of real estate and private equity clients. Mr. McLean received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from University of Notre Dame. Mr. McLean is a licensed CPA and an active participant on the NCREIF Accounting Committee.

 

Jacob Fiumara

Senior Director – Asset Management

Mr. Fiumara joined DivcoWest in 2014 and is responsible for asset management with a focus on East Coast properties. Prior to joining DivcoWest, Mr. Fiumara was a Director at Colony Realty Partners. While at Colony Mr. Fiumara was responsible for overseeing a portfolio of office, industrial and retail assets in the Washing DC Metro area. Prior to Colony, Mr. Fiumara was a broker and appraiser with the Drumlin Group. Mr. Fiumara received a Bachelor of Science in Community Development and Applied Economics at the University of Vermont. Mr. Fiumara is a licensed real estate broker in Massachusetts.

 

Ryan Friend

Senior Director – Acquisitions

Mr. Friend joined DivcoWest in 2014 and is responsible for acquisitions with a focus on East Coast opportunities. Prior to joining DivcoWest, Mr. Friend worked at Hines in New York and Boston where he was a Director in the Investment Management Division and served on the management team for the U.S. Office Value Added Funds. Mr. Friend received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Williams College. In addition, Mr. Friend holds the designation of Chartered Financial Analyst.

 

Pedro Marques

Senior Director – Acquisitions

Mr. Marques joined DivcoWest in 2012 and is responsible for acquisitions, with a focus on opportunities in Northern California, the Pacific Northwest and Denver. Prior to joining DivcoWest, Mr. Marques was a Director at Broadreach Capital Partners. While at Broadreach Capital Partners, Mr. Marques served on the Board of Directors for Corporación Inmobiliaria Vesta, a publicly traded Mexican industrial real estate developer. Mr. Marques received a Master of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Virginia, and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Finance from Georgetown University.

 

Michael Provost

Senior Director – Acquisitions

Mr. Provost joined DivcoWest in 2008 and is responsible for acquisitions, with a focus on opportunities in Southern California and Texas. Prior to joining DivcoWest, Mr. Provost worked at The Chiofaro Company in Boston focusing on leasing the firm’s 1.8 million square foot International Place office complex as well as investment analysis for potential acquisitions. Mr. Provost received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Williams College.

 

Hoa Pham

Senior Vice President – Head of Financial Planning & Management for GP

Ms. Pham joined DivcoWest in 1997 to reinforce its accounting department by establishing the accounting system and putting in place processes and procedures for its primary portfolio of office/retail/R&D properties and was later responsible for overseeing the corporate accounting functions. Ms. Pham brings with her over 20 years of real estate accounting experience to DivoWest. Her role has evolved to become now the head of financial planning and management department providing financial and tax information to the general partners. Prior to joining DivcoWest, she served as the Assistant Controller at Paragon Group and began her career as an accounting manager at Lincoln Property Company. Ms. Pham received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting minoring in Corporate and Partnership Taxation from California State University, Hayward, and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Phoenix.

 

Farooz Alikhan

Senior Director – Information Technology

Mr. Alikhan joined DivcoWest in 2013 and is responsible for all information technology resources and initiatives. Mr. Alikhan helps define and execute the IT strategy in line with the overall business strategy. Mr. Alikhan brings more than 17 years of experience in Information Technology to his position. Prior to joining DivcoWest, Mr. Alikhan ran his own IT consulting services business, for which DivcoWest was a client. Prior to this venture, Mr. Alikhan worked in leadership roles at Actify, Inc. and Incyte Corporation. Mr. Alikhan received a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Biology from Maryville University of St. Louis.

 

Heather Moylan

Director – Acquisitions & Head of Investor Relations

Ms. Moylan joined DivcoWest in 2011 and is a Director on the acquisitions team, with a focus on transaction due diligence and deal execution nationally, and is responsible for capital raising, investor relations, as well as involved on separate account opportunities. Prior to joining DivcoWest, Ms. Moylan worked at Deutsche Bank Securities in the Global Commercial Real Estate Group in New York focusing on loan origination and Commercial Mortgage Backed Securitization. Ms. Moylan received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Ms. Moylan currently serves on the board of ULI San Francisco’s Young Leaders Group.

 

Tim Canon

Director – Acquisitions

Mr. Canon joined DivcoWest in 2012 and is responsible for acquisitions, with a focus on East Coast opportunities. Prior to joining DivcoWest, Mr. Canon worked at RBJ in Boston, where he was an Associate in the Capital Markets Group. Mr. Canon received a Master of Science degree in Real Estate Development from MIT's Center for Real Estate Development and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Amherst College.

 

James Lasher

Director – Asset Management

Mr. Lasher joined DivcoWest in 2013 and is responsible for asset management with a focus on West Coast properties. Prior to joining DivcoWest, Mr. Lasher was a Portfolio Manager for real estate in the investment office of CalPERS, with a focus on non-core investments. During his time at CalPERS he led an evaluation of CalPERS’ real estate separate account and commingled fund investment managers, a restructuring of the fund’s residential investment portfolio and its debt. Prior to CalPERS, Mr. Lasher was a real estate investment banker with Bank of America and Morgan Stanley providing corporate finance products and strategic advice to public and private real estate companies. Mr. Lasher received an MBA from the Haas School of Business and a J.D. from UC Hastings College of the Law.

 

Jeffrey Longnecker

Director – Asset Management

Mr. Longnecker joined DivcoWest in 2012 and is responsible for asset management with a focus on East Coast properties. Prior to joining DivcoWest, Mr. Longnecker spent ten years working at Clarion Partners where he was a Vice President of Portfolio Management. During his tenure at Clarion, Jeff worked with four separate account clients to build and manage national diversified portfolios ranging across all major asset types and investment strategies. Mr. Longnecker received an A.B. in History from Dartmouth College and currently serves as a Gavel Member of NAIOP Massachusetts.

 

Michael Pelletier

Director – Asset Management

Mr. Pelletier joined DivcoWest in 2013 and is responsible for asset management with a focus on West Coast properties. Prior to joining DivcoWest, Mr. Pelletier was a Vice President at Paladin Realty Partners where he structured and managed joint venture real estate investments across Latin America. Prior to that, Michael was a Project Manager at Catellus Development Group working on the Mission Bay Project in San Francisco. Mr. Pelletier received a Master of Business Administration degree from the UCLA Anderson School of Management and a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, also from UCLA.

 

Eric Lupinski

Director – Asset Management

Mr. Lupinski joined DivcoWest in 2007 and is responsible asset management and leasing with a focus on West Coast properties. Prior to DivcoWest, Mr. Lupinski worked at Cushman and Wakefield analyzing leasing and investment sales transactions. Mr. Lupinski received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in Finance from University of Denver and is a ULI member.

 

Edward Liew

Director – Analytics & Operations Management

Mr. Liew joined DivcoWest in 2012 and oversees the asset management analyst team and initiatives to improve operational efficiency and scalability across the enterprise. Prior to joining DivcoWest, Mr. Liew was an independent consultant to public REITs providing services ranging from asset management to business intelligence advisory and systems implementation. Mr. Liew received a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Finance from Bentley University and an MPS in Real Estate from Cornell University.

 

Matthew Leedham

Director – Business Applications & Reporting

Mr. Leedham joined DivcoWest in 2013 and is responsible for managing the development, maintenance and integration of business applications and reporting systems. Prior to joining DivcoWest, Mr. Leedham worked at AMB Property Corporation (now Prologis) as a software architect focused on developing web-enabled business applications. Mr. Leedham received a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology from the University of Calgary in Alberta, Canada.

 

Alexander Wong

Controller – Property Accounting

Mr. Wong joined DivcoWest in 2013 and is responsible for overseeing property level accounting. Prior to joining DivcoWest, he was Vice President, Regional Controller West Central for AMB Property Corporation (now Prologis Inc.). Mr. Wong received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration Accountancy from California State University – Sacramento.
